If you would rather not come to us, we visit homes and offices anywhere in Los Angeles for $300, bringing cloth, linings and finished garments with us.

What the first appointment involves

It takes an hour and costs nothing, and you will meet either Robb or Ben — whichever of us you see is the one who will see the garment through to delivery.

We talk first about what the suit is for, because a suit for a wedding in August and a suit for a boardroom in February are not the same garment. Then you choose: cloth first, with the price of each one in front of you, then linings, buttons, detailing and a monogram if you want one. Then around thirty measurements, head to toe, and three photographs — front, side and back. Posture matters as much as dimensions. Most men stand with one shoulder lower than the other, and a pattern that ignores it produces a jacket that never sits right no matter how often it is altered.

Nobody is asked to decide anything on the day.

Before you come

A fully canvassed two-piece starts at $1,795, a three-piece at $2,045 and a tuxedo at $1,795. The full price list is published so that you know before you walk in. Allow four to six weeks in domestic cloth and six to eight in imported Italian or English.

Grooms should give us six months if they can, three is comfortable, and six weeks is possible as a rush. Wedding parties are discounted twenty per cent — more on wedding suits.
