Custom Suits for Westwood

Mr James is a bespoke tailoring house at 221 Culver Blvd in Playa del Rey, about twenty-five minutes from Westwood down Sepulveda or the 405. We have made fully canvassed, fully bespoke suits since 2010, from $1,795, each cut from a pattern drawn for one person and made by hand in Southern Brittany, France.

Westwood is a university town with a hospital and a row of law and finance offices along Wilshire. It gives us a good many first suits, and a good many men who have reached the point where the first suit is no longer enough.

The first proper suit

A graduate heading into interviews, a resident who has started presenting, a junior associate who has noticed what the partners wear. The first bespoke suit should be the one that works for everything: navy, mid-weight, single-breasted, notch lapel, two buttons. It will still be in use in ten years. What happens at a consultation explains the hour, and there is no charge for it.

For the hospital and the faculty

Doctors and academics wear a jacket more often than a full suit, and an odd jacket with trousers is a better first commission for some. Odd trousers covers that wardrobe. A navy blazer in a hopsack, two pairs of trousers, and three shirts at $295 each will carry a man through a term.
